The New Braunfels Dia de Los Muertos Festival, 501(c)(3) is proud to present its 10th Annual Dia de Los Muertos Festival in Downtown New Braunfels, TX, on October 17, 2026 from 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Dia de Los Muertos is a holiday observance to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives of our deceased loved ones. This year we are expecting an attendance of over 7,000+ to celebrate tradition and cultural heritage.

Our Mission

Cultural Preservation ThroughCommunity & Education

The New Braunfels Dia de Los Muertos Festival is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Our mission is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage and traditions of Dia de Los Muertos through educational and community-based programming that fosters cultural understanding, remembrance, and community connection.

We support cultural preservation, provide educational opportunities and scholarships for local high school students, and promote economic empowerment by supporting local small businesses and community engagement. Our mission serves the entire New Braunfels community — from our Scholarship Program to our Community Historia Beautification initiative, our programming reaches families throughout the whole city.

The goals of the festival are to attract locals and tourists to Downtown New Braunfels and support the Dia de Los Muertos mission and initiatives.

Entry Drop-Off Deadline

Friday, October 2, 2026 at Lee Edwards Realty, 1111 N Walnut Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Register below, then bring your entry (and fee, if applicable) in person by the deadline.

Contest Rules

  • Open to all ages — student entries (under 18) are free; adult entries (18+) are $25 cash only, paid at drop-off
  • Participants must live within a 20-mile radius of Downtown New Braunfels
  • Open to all mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, prints, graphic design, and more
  • Entries must be original works of art, not previously published or used in other promotions or events
  • One artist per entry; no collaborations
  • Submission must be production-ready — posters mounted on foam core or gator board, or stretched canvas if suitable for the medium
  • Submission must reflect Dia de Los Muertos, embodying Hispanic culture and tradition

  1. Do not sign or identify yourself on the front of your entry
  2. Attach your contact information to the back of the entry (name and phone number)
  3. Submit the registration form below
  4. Bring your entry (and fee if applicable) to the Lee Edwards Realty, 1111 N Walnut Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130 by Friday, October 2, 2026 (hours: during regular business hours — call ahead to confirm before dropping off)

Yes! Admission is completely free thanks to our generous sponsors, vendors, and community partners. Donations are always welcome to support programs that serve the entire New Braunfels community, including our Scholarship Program and Community Historia Beautification initiative.
