Scholarship Application

The New Braunfels Día de Los Muertos Festival Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is committed to supporting educational opportunities for local students while preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage and traditions of Día de Los Muertos. Through scholarships and community engagement, we invest in future leaders while honoring the traditions that strengthen our community.

Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors and eligible students who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications may be submitted electronically using the form below, or by mail. File attachments (transcript, resume, letter of recommendation, and any optional supporting documents) should be emailed directly to [email protected] — please reference your full name in the subject line.

Applications must be received or postmarked by September 25, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Honors & Awards

One letter of recommendation is required from a teacher, counselor, employer, coach, mentor, clergy member, or community leader. Please email it directly to [email protected] along with your application packet.

Disbursement Agreement / Terms

If selected as a scholarship recipient, I understand and agree that any awarded funds will be disbursed directly to the registrar or financial aid office of my designated college, university, or trade school — not to me personally. Funds are intended solely for tuition, fees, and other approved educational expenses, and disbursement is contingent upon the New Braunfels Día de Los Muertos Festival Foundation receiving proof of enrollment from the designated institution.
